From Nancy Bourassa from NH Lyme 411:
The STATE of New Hampshire Division of Parks & Recreation as well as the Division of Tourism has REQUESTED Lyme411 to work on this TOGETHER!! THESE TWO DIVISIONS REALIZE WHAT AN IMPACT THAT TICKS CAN HAVE ON TOURISM!!!
PLEASE ATTEND & …HELP NEW HAMPSHIRE & Lyme411 SET THE PACE FOR THE REST OF THE STATES TO FOLLOW!! The State is doing a LOT of promo work thru their agencies & lists as well. Let’s make this HUUUUUGE!
The New Hampshire Division of Parks, the Division of Tourism, and non-profit partner Lyme411 is planning a summer-end morning of festivities around a Walk for Lyme Disease Awareness event on Saturday, August 25th at Odiorne Point State Park. The walk will begin at 10:00 AM and the event should be wrapped up early afternoon.
The walk will be about a 2-mile loop on easy walking trails; food vendors and local, unplugged entertainment will follow. (maybe SOME PLUGGED IN AS WELL!!)
Walk registration is free and admission to Odiorne Point State Park will be free to all who arrive before the start of the walk at 10:00 a.m. (NOTE: After 10 AM…they will charge admission.)
Walkers will be encouraged to register in advance. There will be plenty of other ‘duties’ to tend to for those cannot walk. Your attendance and support for this event is soooo important! We want to provide as much exposure for the prevention & awareness of Lyme Disease as we possibly can. Ticks know NO BOUNDARIES!!
