PRINCETON – Jean Byrne, New Jersey’s First Lady from 1974 to 1982, died Sunday while surrounded by her family. She was 88.
Byrne’s family announced her death Tuesday. She died from complications from Babesiosis, a tick-borne disease of the red blood cells after a brief illness, her obituary said.
