contracted Lyme disease when she was 15 years old, and spent the remainder of her life fighting to find the strength to overcome numerous obstacles and hardships. The disease left her bedridden and in terrible pain. It also caused complete amnesia from which she never recovered. Umpress died August 26, 1994, after a six year battle with Lyme disease.
