“Kimberly Anne Popov, 47, a beloved child of God, passes away at her home in Dayton, OH, on January 26, 2018 after succumbing to a condition that she has battled for many years.
Kim was born in Xenia, OH and grew up in Greenville, OH. She learned to play both violin and piano. In her adult years, she attended Washington Heights Baptist church where she met her husband, Chris, and served the mentally handicapped.
She was gifted with a beautiful voice and she sung both at church and in a show choir at Centerville Sr. High school. She attended Cedarville college and obtained a degree in professional writing. While there she participated in the Sword Bearers music ministry. Kim loved cats, music and her family. She was a nostalgic person who appreciated people and personalities from the 80’s and enjoyed romantic comedies. Some of her favorites were Mark Hamill, Hugh Grant, Jack Wagner and Carol Burnett.
Most of all, she adored her husband, Chris, who reciprocated that love and demonstrated Christ to her daily. Kim shared scripture and enjoyed telling other about Jesus. She was never at a loss for remembering and talking about her past experiences and life with her family and friends. She was jovial and heartfelt until her illness took her life. She will be remembered and loved dearly forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd, from 4 – 6pm at Washington Heights Baptist Church, located at 5650 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, OH, 45429 with memorial service immediately following.
Kim’s friends speak of her..,
Kim was a sweetheart who loved Jesus, loved animals (especially cats), had a good sense of humor, etc. ~Sierra Stearns
I knew Kim. She was a sweet spirited person that fought hard against so many affects of being misdiagnosed , improperly treated and Lyme itself . She had a singing voice like an angel and she loved to share her good days with online friends by videoing her drives with her husband while singing and playing good tunes on the radio and sharing it with us online live . She lead praise sessions online even when she didn’t feel much like praising . She always had a kind word to say to others if they were suffering even if she was suffering horrifically more. The Lord used her testimony to help others to keep on fighting . She was so down to earth and real . She was beautiful inside and out . She is SO greatly missed .❤️ ~ Debra J Friedl
My daughter and I were very close with Kim for many years. We were always there for each other, trying to help each other fight this horrible disease called Lyme. We always had hope we would win the battle, but in Kim’s case, it was not to be. She fought so hard, but in the end, lost her valiant battle. She had been fighting for a very long time, until she could no longer fight anymore. So many people loved her. If only she knew that. If only love healed (quoted from Kim). Heaven has gained an angel and she is no longer suffering. We are all devastated, but know that God’s arms are around her, and she is finally at peace. Kim, we always promised each other that we would have a party when you and Melissa got well. Now we will have to do that in heaven one day. Til we meet again, we love you, Kim ~Eileen Cohen
