Kristine Powell Jones
Tribute to Kristine from Michael Jones:
Kristine Powell Jones was born in 1974 in Okinawa, Japan. She died in early fall of last year in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was 42. Her death was the result of complications from her decades-long struggle with chronic Lyme disease.
Kristine grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma, and overcame a difficult and often abusive childhood to become a wonderful and loving woman.
She developed a successful career in telecommunication before her illness disabled her.
Kristine had a strong faith, a firm commitment to charity and prayer, and a heart the size of a continent. She loved nothing more than being able to provide for others; gifts, emotional support, community support, and providing support and love in any and every way she could imagine.
Kristine was extremely intelligent, and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was quick, witty, bawdy and funny. She was a wonderful and caring mother.
Kristine was artistic and very talented. She was also a gifted poet.
The final years of her live, she was largely bedridden, and lived in constant, severe and ever increasing pain. She bore this with grace and style, and maintained her own support group and constant communications with those she loved and supported.
She leaves behind hundreds of bereaved friends, many beloved relatives, several wonderful children, and her husband.
Even now, on this seasonal anniversary of her passing, the hollows of our hearts, where she lived, are empty.
Fair winds and following seas, Kristine. We love and miss you.
