Paula appeared on the scene a couple years ago and has been a powerhouse ever since! I personally met Paula while organizing the Worldwide Lyme Protest and she volunteered to be one of the state coordinators in Maine. See Pictures of the Maine Lyme Awareness Rally Here.       ~Lisa Hilton

Since then she has put together a number of Lyme awareness events in Maine.

She has:

  • Started Midcoast Lyme Disease Support & Education, a nonprofit that raises awareness, fosters education, advocates for change and provides local community support for Lyme Disease and tick borne associated diseases. (Angele and Paula run 2 active support groups with a 3rd starting up in July!)
  • Organized a 5k Walk for Lyme
  • Participated in  the 1st Annual “Jimmy the Greek” Lyme Conference in Maine put on by Lyme Buddies.

Paula has a lot of events coming up! Please check them out here!

Paula works alongside with Angele Rice.  Angele had this to say 11173409_757285727722836_2996555933307473393_nabout Paula:

“Angele says, “Paula is a tour de force. She’s a natural writer, connector, upfront and honest, generous and kind, practical and down to earth. She’s lights up a room and loves to joke around. She treasures her husband, doggies, family and friends.”

All we can say is that they make a wonderful team! They have done so much for their state of Maine in Lyme advocacy.

Angele Rice

Angele has been on the Lyme scene for many years now. She has done so much it’s hard to know where to start. She helps all other organizations and works really hard on her state’s activism efforts. Some of Angele’s projects she has been involved with are:

  • Sending cards to Lyme patients.
  • Holiday Blanket Forte Party
  • Worldwide Lyme Protest for Maine
  • 5k Walk for Lyme
  • 1st Annual Lyme Conference
  • Helped on the Mayday Project planning committee

Angele has many events coming up.  Check them out here!

angele

Angele. Her name says it all. A heart of compassion, unlimited empathy, a wealth of knowledge and strength of a warrior. Always willing to step up and help, be it online in a support setting or at a community support group. She has been such an amazing partner on this journey we embarked here in Midcoast Maine. She is strong where I am weak. Ying and Yang. Together, we accomplish amazing things! She has taught me so much and I continue to learn from her each and every day. She’s always willing to step outside her comfort zone and try something new for a greater cause. Putting the needs of others before her own, she advocates and supports even while on her own journey for healing. She doesn’t let bad days hold her down. She rides it out and gets ready for the next day. Her artistic talents are endless, her compassion and understanding enormous and her friendship a blessing. Touched by an Angele, we should ask be so lucky. ~ Paula Jackson Jones
