Ryan tells his journey through Lyme into becoming an
EMT and National Guardsman.

From the Hartford Courant:

“The athletically built Will has come a long way from childhood, much of it spent at the doctor’s office because he was plagued by constant illness. His health problems, arising from Lyme disease, caused him to miss weeks and months of school, delaying his graduation by two years. He doesn’t like to talk about this period of his life, except to say, “It was hard.” When he finally got better in his late teens, Will says that he felt he had to make up for lost time.”

Now he is a an EMT and National Guardsman, using his experience from when he was sick to help others.

  1. ryan, congrats! what a wonderful story about your life with lyme disease then and now.

your mom and i go back around 11-11.5 years on the lyme board! she’s still on my lyme group list of updates on lyme/co-infection activism.

your mom is such a STRONG ACTIVIST; she and i were role models to wisc. lisa who has WHATISLYME.COM site!

we were strong women to her; so she took what she learned/observed from tracy and me and became a BIG worldwide activist and going to LYME rallys/conferences.

so glad to read what you are doing with your life today.

i had 3 brothers all belonging to IOWA national guard; 2 army and 1 air force; all retired now.

please greet your beloved mom for me ok?

hugs/prayers to all of you 1st responders, national guard employees, and to all who have gone to war to protect us and our precious FREEDOMS.
