Kick off Lyme Disease Awareness Month, Sunday, May 1, 2016
Join Lymebuddies as we kick off Lyme Disease Awareness Month on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Jimmy the Greeks, 115 Philbrook Ave, South Portland, ME from 10:30am-12 noon. THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Presentations will include Mainely Ticks’ Barb Maurais speaking on the topic of protection for yourself and landscape strategies, a presentation by Dr. Meghan May, M.S., Ph.D., Chair, Div G, American Society for Microbiology on new advances in the detection of Lyme Disease, the launch of “The Big Five for Lyme”, a fundraising event to raise money for ILAD Education Foundation’s Physician Training Program, (http://www.ilads.org/education/physician-training.php), and Dr. Leon Hecht, N.D., co-founder of North Coast Family Health, who has specific interests in the diagnosis and treatment of tick borne illnesses including Lyme, Babesia, Batonella and Erhlichia, discussing how the ILADEF Physician Training program benefits physicians and communities alike.
