Attention Illinois Lymies- Message From Lyme Support Network

We hope that everyone is looking forward to a nice Thanksgiving holiday.

We are very pleased to announce that we will be having a special Lyme support presentation on Thursday, December 1st featuring Dr. Elizabeth Maloney. Dr. Maloney will discuss Lab Testing in Lyme Disease.

This event will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church, 25519 W Hwy 134, Ingleside, IL, 60041 at 6:30 pm.

Family, friends and medical professionals are encouraged to attend this informative presentation by a Lyme Disease expert.

Lab Testing in Lyme Disease presented by Dr. Elizabeth Maloney

The proper use of lab testing in Lyme disease is misunderstood by many patients and physicians. This talk focuses primarily on ELISA and Western blot testing, which look for antibodies to the bacteria causing Lyme disease. Test performance and the limitations surrounding their use in the diagnosis of Lyme disease will be discussed in detail. Descriptions of other diagnostic tests will also be included.

Dr. Maloney is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the Minnesota Academy of Family Practice and the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). She has developed accredited continuing medical education courses on Lyme disease for nurses, chiropractors and physicians. She also provides education to private organizations and government agencies.

Everyone should make a special effort to attend this valuable presentation. Dr. Betty is an amazing asset to the Lyme Community and to our local support group.

There will also be an extended Q & A session with Dr. Betty following the presentation.
