For those of you who might not know Kathleen Hanna, she was a punk rocker and feminist activist throughout the 90’s.  The first band that launched her to fame was, “Bikini Kill,” and then she started a band called, “Julie Rain,” and finally now is in a band, “Le Tigre.” She is elle-kathleen-01-mdn_clipped_rev_2married to Adam Horovitz from, “The Beastie Boys.”

Kathleen had been vocal about her battle with Lyme Disease. There are articles, a documentary and soon she will be getting honored at the TBDA Lyme Gala. Below are links to all of these tidbits.

TBDA Gala Honors Kathleen Hanna

The Tick-Borne Disease Alliance (TBDA), is having their third annual fundraising gala this year called, “The Great Imitator Masquerade Ball,” to be held at Chelsea Piers in New York City on Thursday, May 1, 2014. They will be honoring many celebrities who deal with the consequences of Lyme Disease including,  former Major League Baseball Player Tom Seaver, 2014 Olympic Freestyle Skier Angeli VanLaanen and Punk & Indie Rock Musician Kathleen Hanna. Each honoree will be recognized for their determination and willingness to speak out about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.  Read More Here
