Sadly today LDUC sent this announcement:



Loving wife and mother Patricia Jones died September 24 of complications of Lyme disease, which led to a fall at her home, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Patricia was born in Cedar Rapids on December 10, 1949.  She graduated from Iowa State University and Kansas State University with a master’s degree in counseling.  Patricia was a counselor in Wichita, Kansas, as well as Cedar Rapids.  She devoted her life to her husband, Thomas, and her daughter, Katherine, and her son-in-law, Carmon Rote.  Patricia was the director of the Cedar Rapids chapter of the Lyme Disease Association (LDUC), and suffered many years from the illness.  She and her family were featured in the Cedar Rapids Gazette regarding the dangers of Lyme disease.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Thomas, her daughter, Katherine, and her son-in-law, Carmon Rote all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  A daughter, Sarah, died at birth.  Patricia is also survived by her loving mother, June Gerard of Dubuque, Iowa.  Patricia’s siblings remain to mourn the passing of their sister: James, Karen, Judy, and Colleen.

  1. Please know that while we may be oceans apart, we all stand united in our fight for health, dignity and recognition and also in standing together for your families sad loss.

    I hope that thought gives some small comfort at this terribly sad time.
