Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is the use of electric current produced by a device to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes. TENS devices are used as a non-invasive nerve stimulation intended to reduce both acute and chronic pain, particularly musculoskeletal pain.

Chiropractors, physical therapists, and Naturopath use them in their office. They are also pretty cheap and easy to use so many people who suffer from chronic pain learn how to use them at home. One positive thing about Tens Units are they are very affordable and easy to use.

  1. This is a really cool information about pain relief. It does seem like TENS machines should be something you are aware of if you need pain relief. I know that I would want to be aware of all pain relief options especially because I don’t like taking pain pills because they mess with my stomach.
